Jamaican Reggae sensation, Winstone Rodney, popularly known as Burning Spear is set to arrive in the country this Wednesday ahead of his performance at the Glamis Arena in Harare on Friday.
The performance is part of his One People Africa tour.
In an interview with local show organiser, Nev Bennet, Burning Spear and his band will jet into Zimbabwe this Wednesday for a jam-packed itinerary before the show this Friday at the Glamis Arena.
“They are currently in South Africa and they will arrive at the Robert Mugabe airport at 4.20 pm. We have quite a lineup for Burning Spear. Thursday we have a full-day lineup, we will be going into the Rastafarian community, we will be at the liberation centre and he is also bringing a gift with him for our President,” said Bennet.
Reggae fans can expect a night irie of vibes and Burning Spear is ready to deliver.
“The Friday is a big day, everyone is looking forward to Friday, it will be a big day. Burning Spear will be here singing his favourite songs for us to enjoy and have a lovely time,” added Bennet.
Burning Spear is renowned for his classic hits like “Marcus Garvey,” “Slavery Days,” and “Man in the Hills,’’ not forgetting songs from his latest album, No Destroyer, which has just been nominated for a Grammy Award.
