The Bulawayo Under 20 rugby league continued this weekend with exciting matches taking place at Hartsfield Stadium.
Now in the second week with two more weeks to go, the Bulawayo rugby development initiative has taken a new twist with the focus now on exposing high school players to club competition in the under-twenty league.
The Zimbabwe Rugby Union is excited about the progress.
“In the past, our focus has been schools’ rugby development and we felt we can give our players an opportunity to have a feel of club competition hence we have schools playing clubs here,” said Zimbabwe Rugby Union national development officer, Reuben Kumpasa.
The Bulawayo rugby union is also using the four-week tournament to adequately prepare for an invitational tournament involving teams from Botswana in March.
Meanwhile Raging Bulls beat Bulldogs 34-0 in an afternoon kick-off.
