MEMBERS of the Johane Masowe eChishanu have expressed support for Constitutional Amendment Number 3 Bill, saying the proposed legislation will help sustain national development initiatives under the Second Republic.
The endorsement was made during the church’s annual pilgrimage at the Nevanji Shrine, where apostolic leaders and members of Vapostori4ED pledged their backing for the Bill.
“As many as we are here today, we support CAB 3 because we are enjoying freedom of worship, and we have received tremendous support under the Second Republic. We are saying let the President continue leading us into the future,” Madzibaba Stanley Kazingizi from Marondera said.
“We have seen the many projects that the government under the leadership of President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa is implementing nationwide, and we do not want anything to disrupt the development trajectory of this country,” leader of the Highfield Gwanzura congregation Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira said.
“As the Johane Masowe sect, we are saying the Bill was long overdue; we are in support of everything it stands for,” added Madzibaba Tatenda Manjonjo.
“The development that is happening in this country under the Second Republic was prophesied long back that we as black people are going to see and enjoy the growth of our country, as we also own the means of production. We are fully in support of CAB 3,” Madzibaba Simbarashe Nengomasha from Chitungwiza said.
Zimbabwe recently held nationwide public hearings on the Constitutional Amendment Number 3 Bill, which attracted significant public participation, with provisions allowing those who missed the hearings to submit written input before the May 17 deadline.
