Alleged bogus doctor, Prosper Mpofu who was arrested two weeks ago and released on bail, has been apprehended once again at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo.
Mpofu, whose real name is Taurai Prosper Vanhuvaone, was arrested a fortnight ago for masquerading as a medical doctor at Mpilo Central Hospital, but returned to the same health facility this Monday only to be apprehended again for the same crime.
Mpilo Central Hospital Chief Medical Officer, Dr Narcisius Dzvanga said Vanhuvaone, who is out on bail, was arrested at the hospital grounds while attending to some patients.
“The fake doctor has reappeared again at Mpilo at the paediatric unit this time, not at the outpatients like last time. He has been re-arrested by the hospital staff and handed over to Mpilo ZRP base officers,” he said.
The 29-year-old was remanded out of custody on a US$100 bail, with conditions to reside at his given address, report to the police weekly, and not interfere with state witnesses.
The alleged bogus doctor is expected to appear in court on the 7th of October.
