All set for Brigadier General (Rtd) Chaminuka’s burial

THE body of Brigadier General (Retired) Michael Chaminuka is now in Harare ahead of burial at the national shrine on Monday.

Upon arrival at Charles Gumbo Barracks from Foliot farm in Karoi this Sunday morning, the body was taken to the family home in Glen Lorne where it will lie in state.

Director Legal Services in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Mrs Prisca Madziviridze confirmed all logistical arrangements are now in place for the burial of the national hero.

“The body will lie in state at the family home in Glen Lorne. Burial is set for Monday, and we expect mourners to be sited as early as 7am.”

Brigadier General Retired Chaminuka died on Saturday last week after a short illness and was declared a national hero.

He is survived by his wife Lilian Chaminuka and five children.
