All set for national prayer and thanksgiving service

Story by Grace Sibanda

All is set for the national prayer and thanksgiving service which is scheduled for this Sunday at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds in Bulawayo.

Family of God Church Founder and Overseer, Apostle Andrew Wutawunashe told the ZBC News, “All is set for the service which is meant for us to pray and thank God for this year and ask for blessings for the New Year. Our nation is grounded on loving and serving God and we have come this far through his help hence this is a good platform to come together and ask God to enter the new year with us. All is ready.”

Apostle Wutawunashe further underscored the church’s critical role in promoting national unity, development and patriotism.

He added, “I would like to underscore that the church is a voice of reason for the people and this will be a celebration of all the development that has happened in our country under the second republic. Our nation is on a growth trajectory and the role of the church is to show the citizens of Zimbabwe such development and promote patriotism.”

The eighth edition of the national prayer and thanksgiving service which will be attended by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, also serves as a celebration of the developmental strides that have been undertaken under the Second Republic, in a bid to encourage national pride.
