ACARDIA Bucs, one of the country’s oldest basketball clubs, has withdrawn from the Harare Basketball Association (HBA) League, citing unresolved constitutional issues.

Bucs produced the likes of Ellary Princeton, who later became a national team coach, Creon Raftopulus, while former Warriors goalkeeper Peter Fanwell also played for the club.

Last season, Bucs and other HBA clubs had a long-running dispute with HBA over player eligibility issues, which resulted in the club being ejected from the Super6 league.

Bucs becomes the fourth club to withdraw from HBA since the start of last season after former national champions Foxes, JBC women and Blades.
