HIGHLANDERS Football Club will hold a combined memorial service at Barbourfields Stadium on Monday for the four victims who lost their lives in the Mbembesi road traffic accident.
Highlanders acting chairman Kindman Ndlovu said the club is working to ensure the four receive a befitting send-off and urged supporters to attend the memorial service in their numbers.
“It is a very difficult time for the club. We are trying our best to remain strong and give our executives and our supporter a befitting send-off. We will hold a combined memorial service at Barbourfields Stadium on Monday, with all the families represented. We urge our fans to come out in full force and give our members the farewell they deserve. The stadium gates will open at 9am,” he said.
Following the combined memorial service, the bodies of the club’s late vice-chairperson, Fiso Siziba, and treasurer, Nkani Khoza, will be laid to rest at Lady Stanley Cemetery.
The late club chairman, Kenneth Mhlophe, will be buried on Tuesday with full military honours.
The late Mbalenhle Sibanda will also be laid to rest on Tuesday at her rural home in Filabusi.
