HARDROCK will look to avenge their first-round defeat to CAPS United when the two sides meet in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 21 clash at Chahwanda Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts are chasing maximum points to maintain pressure in the title race after strengthening their squad during the mid-season transfer window with the additions of Warriors defender Gerald Takwara and Malawian right-back McDonald Rameck.
CAPS United have also bolstered their squad, signing veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi, Botswana goalkeeper Victor James, Malawian midfielders Vunga Uchizi and Precious Phiri, while re-registering striker Chris Mugalu.
Hardrock head into the encounter in encouraging form, having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches. They sit second on the table with 39 points, four behind leaders Scottland.
The home side will also be seeking revenge after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Makepekepe in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
CAPS United, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency, recording just two victories in their last 10 league matches. Their last five outings have produced one win, three draws and one defeat, leaving them third on the standings with 34 points.
The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that supporters will be allowed into Chahwanda Stadium for Sunday’s match despite Hardrock receiving a one-match behind-closed-doors sanction.
The league said the punishment will instead be enforced during Hardrock’s next home fixture against Triangle United following the PSL Disciplinary Committee’s ruling on the abandoned match against Dynamos.
