PRESIDENT Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has conferred national hero status on the late Zimbabwe envoy to Mozambique and the Kingdom of Eswatini, Ambassador Victor Matemadanda, who died on Saturday, in recognition of his distinguished contribution to the country’s liberation struggle.
The decision was announced on Monday when ZANU PF Secretary for External Affairs, Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, delivered the message to the Matemadanda family.
Cde Mumbengegwi said the ruling party ZANU PF had unanimously agreed to confer hero status on Ambassador Matemadanda, in honour of his service to the nation.
