SWITZERLAND has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Zimbabwe across key sectors, including arts, agriculture and industry.
Outgoing Swiss Ambassador, His Excellency Stephanie Rey, made the remarks after paying a farewell courtesy call on President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare this Friday.
Ambassador Rey said Switzerland remains committed to advancing bilateral cooperation and highlighted ongoing support for Zimbabwe’s arts sector as well as agricultural development initiatives.
He noted that Switzerland is assisting local artists while also supporting the development of seed varieties aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity across Africa.
The envoy also expressed appreciation to President Mnangagwa for the support extended during his diplomatic tenure in Zimbabwe.
Ambassador Rey said the conducive working environment enabled him to effectively carry out his duties and left him departing the country with a sense of satisfaction.
The farewell meeting marked the conclusion of his diplomatic assignment as the two countries continue to pursue stronger relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
