THE Nurse Aides 4 ED, a ZANU PF-affiliated grouping, has endorsed Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, saying the proposed changes will strengthen governance systems and ensure continuity in national development programmes, particularly in the health sector.

The endorsement was made at Esigodini Agricultural College, where members of the organisation also completed more than 300 endorsement forms in support of the constitutional amendment process.

National Chairperson of Nurse Aides 4 ED, Cde Tendai Munetsi, said the group’s backing was anchored on visible progress in the health delivery system under the Second Republic.

“As Nurse Aid 4ED, we fully endorse and support the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3. We believe it is vital for the President to complete the good work already underway. I will mention our sector, we are evidently witnessing 180 clinics constructed, the strategic expansion of NATPharm in Manicaland, an additional of a fleet of ambulances that were distributed in the health sector, the refurbishing of Parirenyatwa group of Hospitals, Sally Mugabe Hospital, and Mpilo referral Hospitals. This is the advancement of the NDS2 health pillar, to ensure access to health services at every doorstep by 2030.”

The Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Albert Nguluvhe, took the opportunity to spell out some of the independence legacy projects being pursued by the Second Republic.

“CAB 3 represents a forward-looking instrument designed to strengthen governance and national development. I wish to extend special appreciation to the nurse aides present here today. Your unwavering support reflects your dedication to national progress and alignment with the President’s vision: “Ilizwe liyakhiwa ngabanikazi balo,” a nation is built by its people. As frontline caregivers, you are the backbone of our healthcare system,” he said.

The Bill, which is at the consultation stage, is expected to be tabled before Parliament after the conclusion of public hearings, where it will require a two-thirds majority in both the National Assembly and Senate to pass into law.
