ZIMBABWE’S Under-18 and Under-20 handball teams strengthened their bid for Zone Six Championship glory after recording emphatic victories in their second group matches in Lusaka, Zambia, on Tuesday.

Both teams remain unbeaten in the regional tournament and are firmly on course for places in the quarter-finals.

The Under-18 side delivered a dominant performance to crush Eswatini 41-7, underlining their credentials as serious title contenders.

The Under-20 team was equally impressive, overpowering Namibia 47-18 in another one-sided encounter.

The victories follow winning starts for both teams on Monday, giving Zimbabwe two wins from two matches in each category.

With quarter-final qualification within reach, both sides will now turn their attention to their final group fixtures on Wednesday.

The Under-18 team is set for a tougher test against South Africa, while the Under-20 side will face Lesotho.

The Zone Six Championships, held under the auspices of the African Handball Confederation, serve as a key platform for regional competition and talent development.

Zimbabwe’s impressive early performances have boosted hopes of a strong medal challenge in both age groups.
