ZIMBABWE presented its rich culinary heritage to an international audience at the ITB Berlin tourism fair, where a gastronomy lunch hosted by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbara Rwodzi, offered delegates an authentic taste of the nation’s diverse flavors.

The event, attended by scores of international delegates, highlighted traditional Zimbabwean cuisine as an expression of culture, identity, and hospitality. The initiative is supported by the Patron for Tourism and Wildlife, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, whose efforts to promote indigenous food have been recognised by the United Nations for contributing to cultural preservation and community empowerment.

“Our gastronomy is more than a meal; it tells the story of our culture, our traditions, and the warmth of Zimbabwean hospitality. This showcase allows the world to experience our country’s heritage in every bite,” Minister Rwodzi said.

The luncheon emphasised the role of culinary experiences as a strategic pillar of Zimbabwe’s tourism agenda, blending heritage, culture, and hospitality into a distinctive visitor offering. Events such as this continue to enhance Zimbabwe’s international profile, positioning the country as a vibrant destination where tradition and gastronomy converge.
