RESIDENTS of Seke district are set to gain improved access to medical services with the completion of Simbarashe Medical Centre in the Chirasavana area. The facility, built through a partnership between local faith-based organisations and community stakeholders, is expected to reduce travel distances for patients who previously had to rely on clinics in Seke and Chitungwiza.
Addressing the opening, Honourable Sleiman Kwidini, Deputy Minister of Health and Childcare, highlighted the role of private players in complementing government efforts to strengthen Zimbabwe’s health delivery system.
The church leader behind the project, Madzibaba Simbarashe Nengomasha, confirmed that the centre is equipped with modern laboratory infrastructure, enabling rapid diagnosis and treatment for patients.
Chief Seke welcomed the development, noting that the facility will strengthen primary healthcare in the district and surrounding areas, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Community-based partnerships such as this reflect an emerging model of inclusive healthcare development, leveraging local resources to supplement public sector capacity.
