THE ZANU PF-led Government has stepped up the rollout of grassroots development projects in Beitbridge West, as part of a broader strategy to deepen service delivery and ensure inclusive growth at community level.
In Mtetengwe and surrounding areas, residents are benefiting from a range of infrastructure and empowerment initiatives being implemented under the Second Republic, including the construction of schools and clinics, rural electrification, internet connectivity and the establishment of Village Business Units.
Community members say the projects are beginning to address long-standing developmental gaps, while also creating opportunities for future generations.
“These projects mean a lot to us because this is what we fought for, to liberate the country and bring development to our communities. What the President is doing is good as everyone is being considered in terms of development and this will benefit our children and the next generation,” a community member said.
“When we meet and discuss these projects, it then shows us that there is development taking place in our communities,” another added.
ZANU PF leadership in Matabeleland South Province says the focus on grassroots infrastructure is deliberate and aimed at making development visible and impactful.
“We are implementing a lot of development projects in these communities so that people can clearly see progress, including schools, clinics and Village Business Units,” Beitbridge West Legislator, Honourable Thusani Ndou said.
Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Albert Nguluvhe, said the developments demonstrate how decentralised funding mechanisms can accelerate local growth when properly managed.
“We are happy with this development after the Vice President came and assisted us. This is the development we need, where we participate in developing our communities. This is also a clear indication that CDF can really bring development if managed well,” he said.
ZANU PF Matabeleland South Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mangaliso Ndlovu, said the party’s mandate extends beyond political liberation to sustained national development.
“The mandate of ZANU PF did not end by liberating the country, but also to develop the country as the President always says, that Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo/Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo.”
Infrastructure development remains a key anchor of the National Development Strategy 2 as the Second Republic continues with its commitment to improve service delivery and foster equitable resource distribution.
