PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa says decisions affecting Africa must be made in consultation with the continent at the highest level possible.
The Head of State who was addressing leaders at the ongoing African Union – European Union Summit underway in Luanda, Angola, said Zimbabwe remains concerned by some quarters seeking to weaken multilateralism, bringing to fore the need to strengthen the United Nations and correct the historical imbalances.
President Mnangagwa commended efforts towards the reform of the global governance architecture.
He said the reform of the United Nations Security Council is key, emphasising that decisions affecting Africa must include the continent at the highest level.
President Mnangagwa called on the European Union to support Africa’s development priorities.
The Head of State also used the platform to call for reforms to the global financial architecture, noting the need for fair access to affordable finance, climate funding, debt relief and equitable representation.
The ongoing AU-EU Summit seeks to strengthen cooperation between the two continents
