Chevrons target back-to-back wins as they face Pakistan on Sunday

ZIMBABWE’S Chevrons are aiming to carry their winning momentum into their next T20 clash against hosts Pakistan in Rawalpindi this Sunday.

Led by captain Sikandar Raza, the team is looking to recover from their five-wicket defeat to Pakistan in the opening match and build on their dominant 67-run victory over Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Raza, who recently became the second Zimbabwean to reach 100 T20I wickets and made his 300th international appearance, says the team’s busy calendar this year has paid off.

“We do not need an extra source to be motivated. The packed season really paid off for us. Once we put on the jersey, we know what to do. It is the best thing for a player to play in the national team, and the extra motivation is nice. The busy calendar was helpful, playing ten test series, it got us to have more understanding of the game,” he said.

The Chevrons have had a jam-packed schedule this year, playing against Afghanistan, Ireland, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and New Zealand in T20s, ODIs, and Test series.

With the ICC T20 World Cup set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka just around the corner, Zimbabwe is using this tri-series as part of their preparations for the big tournament in February.
