AS the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League relegation battle reaches its peak this coming weekend, Triangle United fans are optimistic the Sugar Boys will survive the chop.

On Sunday, Triangle United step onto the pitch for a fixture that is not just a game but a final test for survival in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

They face fellow relegation strugglers, Green Fuel Football Club, with fans praying for nothing short of victory.

“We will be very happy if the boys make it. We are going to pray hard for our team because we used to watch PSL matches at Gibbo and that was our entertainment,” said a fan.

“We enjoyed watching the PSL matches and our hope is that the Sugar Sugar Boys survive relegation so that the fun continues next year,” said another.

“As the people of Triangle we love football and this coming match between Green Fuel and Triangle United Football Club, we really have to make sure that we win and losing is not an option and we want to win and we hope to win so that we remain in the Premier Soccer League,” said yet another fan.

Triangle United Senior Executive member, Mr Kudakwashe Nduna said the team is ready for this do-or-die derby.

“We are focused on the game and we do not want to put a lot of pressure on the team. The morale is very high. We have done everything to prepare the boys to support them psychologically and also to motivate them. We are confident we will win and at the end of the day this is a game of sport and we accept whatever result. We also hope to survive the chop that will be good for our community as everyone is looking forward to this game but at the end of the day football will win, he indicated.

Meanwhile, Triangle United will take on the Glamour Boys in the Chibuku Super Cup final scheduled for Gibbo Stadium on the 29th of November.
