Bosso date Herentals in tricky fixture

BULAWAYO giants Highlanders FC are taking a cautious approach ahead of their Sunday encounter with Herentals, despite having knocked out The Students from the Chibuku Super Cup just weeks ago.

The two sides have faced off twice this season in different competitions, and with each match bringing its own intensity, the Highlanders are not leaving anything to chance as they prepare for another tightly contested fixture.

Bosso eliminated the Students in the Chibuku Super Cup first round, and it appears a grudge match is in the offing as Herentals lie on Bosso’s survival path this weekend.

Highlanders are targeting to grind five points from the remaining five games to be assured of a dance in the top flight in a complicated relegation mix, which also features giants Dynamos and Caps United.

Highlanders head coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh says the Chibuku honeymoon is over as they are desperate for safety.

“Most of the teams that have played Herentals have faced problems. They are a good side, tactically disciplined. I hope fair play will prevail. We are targeting five to six points to survive. We have prepared well and we will surely give our best come Sunday,” he said.

Premier Soccer League action resumes this Friday with Chicken Inn hosting Scottland at Barbourfields Stadium.

On Saturday, TelOne hosts Kwekwe United at Ascot, as MWOS host Green Fuel at Ngoni Stadium.

Manica Diamonds play Triangle at Sakubva, Simba Bhora entertain CAPS United at Wadzanayi, Dynamos play Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro, ZPC Kariba face Bikita Minerals at Nyamhunga, and FC Platinum welcome Yadah at Mandava.
