ZIMBABWE will be looking to level the three-match T20 International series when they face reigning world champions India in the second match at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
The Chevrons trail the series 1-0 after suffering a seven-wicket defeat in Thursday’s opener. Despite a shaky start, Zimbabwe recovered through a partnership between Tadiwanashe Marumani and Wessly Madhevere, which helped the hosts post 125 for seven.
Saturday’s encounter offers Zimbabwe the chance to bounce back and secure a rare T20 victory over the world champions on home soil, a result that would rank among the country’s notable achievements in white-ball cricket.
The Chevrons will once again wear their commemorative jersey inspired by Zimbabwe’s iconic kit from the 1992 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
The retro design, worn by David Houghton’s celebrated side, has been recreated using modern performance technology, combining the country’s cricketing heritage with its present-day ambitions.
Zimbabwe will also be hoping for an improved performance from their top order as they seek to post a more competitive total against India’s highly rated bowling attack.
