PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has made four ambassadorial appointments as part of efforts to strengthen Zimbabwe’s engagement and re-engagement agenda.
According to an extraordinary Government Gazette published this Wednesday, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya confirmed the new diplomatic deployments.
Ambassador Patrick Mutasa has been appointed as Zimbabwe’s envoy to Cuba.
Ambassador Lovemore Mazemo will represent Zimbabwe in South Africa.
Ambassador Isaac Moyo has been deployed to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ambassador David Hamadziripi has been appointed as the country’s envoy to the United States of America.
The appointments were made in terms of Section 204 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
The government says the new postings are expected to enhance bilateral relations and open fresh opportunities for cooperation in line with the country’s foreign policy thrust.
