SADC Chairperson President Emmerson Mnangagwa has left for Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the Joint East African Community (EAC) – Southern African Development Community (SADC) Co-Chairs’ Summit on the DRC peace process.
The summit set for this Friday will also serve as a briefing session with the panel of facilitators for the peace process and is also expected to attract the Chairperson of the African Union Commission and the Executive Secretaries of the EAC and SADC.
It is also expected to reinforce collaboration and promote coherence in regional efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in Eastern DRC.
President Mnangagwa was seen off at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport by Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga, Defence Minister Honourable Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Honourable Kazembe Kazembe, Chief Secretary to President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya, Service Chiefs and senior government officials.
