PALESTINE has reaffirmed its commitment to continue bilateral ties with Zimbabwe as investors from the Middle East nation seek to expand their portfolios.

This reaffirmation came during a courtesy call on Vice President Kembo Mohadi by the Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Tamer Almassri, held at his Munhumutapa offices this Tuesday.

Ambassador Almassri reiterated his country’s unwavering solidarity with Zimbabwe and applauded the historical friendship between the two nations, which has remained steadfast despite ongoing geopolitical challenges.

“We spoke on the need to maintain our bilateral relations, which is very key even as our nation currently faces a devastating war. We agreed that our ties should be activated to ensure that they remain strong,” Ambassador Almassri said.

This also comes after the Palestinian envoy indicated investors from his country are looking to expand their portfolios in Zimbabwe.

Ambassador Almassri also noted that Palestine continues to stand against illegal economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by Western nations.

“We spoke about the double standards of the West. How can they impose illegal sanctions on a nation like Zimbabwe, which is peaceful? It is totally unacceptable,” he added.

Ambassador Almassri also noted the enduring friendship between the two nations, describing Zimbabwe as a true ally that has consistently stood with Palestine.
