THE National Culture Month launch celebrations were capped off by a music gala at the Rusununguko Secondary School Grounds in Chiredzi Thursday night.
It was an electric atmosphere as various musicians and traditional groups kept the audience on their toes from Thursday night to the early hours of Friday.
Musicians from across the country, including Mark Ngwazi, Freeman, and various local groups, proved their mettle by catering for all age groups, much to the audience’s excitement.
Chiredzi District, particularly the Shangani community, expressed gratitude to the Second Republic for awarding them a platform to host such an important national event.
“We are happy to be hosting such a big event and as the Shangani people the world had a chance to get an insight into our culture,” a community member said.
“We used to think that we were a marginalised community but today we know that we are just one people one Zimbabwe every culture is the same because we hosted this big event,” another community member said.
“I saw many performances from many artists and for a rural community like ours that is a lifetime experience,” a community member noted.
