HARARE –SADC Chairperson President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on the region to re-double conservation efforts in seeking a hospitable cohabitation of humans and wildlife while achieving sustainable development.
Officially opening the regional Transfrontier Conservation Areas Heads of State and Government Summit in Harare, President Mnangagwa said the programme provides a good basis for charting a way forward in environmental protection and socio-economic development along with regional integration across member states.
He added that in the face of climate change, and biodiversity loss, the launch of the Zimbabwe Carbon Market Regulation represents the country’s commitment to providing sustainability in the carbon market.
2025 marks 25 years since the coming in of the SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas.
