THE Social Services Cluster held a high-level meeting in Harare this Tuesday to discuss progress on the Chiringa Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Dashboard, a digital platform launched last year to enhance the real-time supervision of government social service projects.
Developed by Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE), the Chiringa Dashboard was introduced in 2024 as part of a push to digitise project tracking, improve accountability, and foster data-driven decision-making across 10 key ministries.
Addressing the Social Services Cluster high-level meeting, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, underscored the strategic importance of the dashboard.
“The Social Services Cluster is at the cornerstone of our efforts to uplift communities, particularly youth and women, through initiatives in education, healthcare, ICT, housing, and welfare. This dashboard allows us to track progress in real time and reinforces accountability. This tool marks a turning point in how we deliver public value. It will streamline supervision and deepen impact across our programs.”,” he said.
Bindura University of Science Education Vice-Chancellor Professor Eddie Mwenje said the dashboard has shown promising results.
“Since its pilot phase began in August 2024, 87 projects have been registered on the platform. Seven ministries are now actively updating progress reports, including photos and milestone evidence. What used to take weeks can now be viewed in five minutes,” he said.
Professor Mwenje highlighted that the digital system complies with international standards and provides real-time updates on project status, such as construction progress or infrastructure delivery.
Various ministries under the Social Services Cluster presented their plans and progress, highlighting key projects and initiatives.
The Chiringa M&E Dashboard is set to play a pivotal role in boosting accountability and effective project implementation under the Social Services Cluster, driving national development and progress toward Vision 2030.
