USA ready to strengthen trade ties with Zim

THE United States of America says it is ready to upscale trade ties with Zimbabwe, driven by government’s engagement and re-engagement drive.

The US Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Pamela Tremont this Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Honourable Mangaliso Ndlovu at his offices in Harare.

In an interview after the meeting, Ambassador Tremont revealed commitment by the US to increase trade and economic cooperation with Zimbabwe.

“The meeting with the Minister was very cordial riding on the need to explore a lot and focus on what can be done to further scale up relations between the two could upscale ties and further enhance the existing relations riding on the current strides or achievements,” she said.

The US will also be lining business missions to Zimbabwe for investment opportunities.

“The USA has always been on a mission to look for opportunities remember during the past few years there have been some delegations coming to Zimbabwe and we expect more of them to continue coming to Zimbabwe and look for available opportunities,” Ambassador Tremont said.

Under the engagement and reengagement drive, the Second Republic is achieving milestones in restoring and increasing ties with the global community.
