SURPRISE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League log leaders, MWOS will have another stern test of character when they take on defending champions, Simba Bhora at Wadzanayi Stadium this Saturday.

The newly promoted side has had a fairy-tale start to their life in the top flight after securing five wins and two draws to seat at the apex of the log standings after seven weeks.

First, it was Highlanders, the country’s second most successful club, along the way Yadah, Bikita Minerals, former champions FC Platinum and now the country’s most successful club, Dynamos all have failed to stop little-known MWOS.

Only FC Platinum and Bikita Minerals have taken points off the Norton-based side that is just writing another chapter in an ever-entertaining season.

After getting past some opponents with a well-documented history, MWOS face a stern test of character this Saturday when they travel to Wadzanayi Stadium for a date against defending champions Simba Bhora.

Simba are slowly finding their feat this season and have risen to second on the log after a shacky start to their title defence and having released a sizable number of players and title winning coach Tonderai Ndiraya.

However, despite the slow start, some things never changed and Simba Bhora are imperious at home, as they have only let in just one goal this season at their favourite hunting ground.

In the last three years, only two teams have come out of Shamva smiling, with FC Platinum being the only team to beat the champions at Wadzanayi last year after securing a 2-nil victory and Chegutu Pirates also managed a one-nil win in 2002, when Simba were still playing in the Northern Region Division One League.

Fireworks are expected this Saturday when these two clash however match-day eight action starts on Friday with Herentals hosting Green Fuel at Rufaro Stadium.

Saturday sees FC Platinum taking on Triangle United at Mandava, inconsistent Manica Diamonds welcome struggling Chicken Inn to Sakubva Stadium, while Yadah date out-of-sorts CAPS United at Rufaro.

Ambitious TelOne tackle Highlanders at Ascot stadium in Gweru, ZPC Kariba welcome Scottland to the resort town, while Bikita Minerals take on Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Sunday sees wounded Dynamos taking on Kwekwe United that failed to turn up for their last match.
