PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is in Mbare this morning to officially open the newly constructed temporary Mbare Musika Market and lead a groundbreaking ceremony for a future modernised trader’s mall.
The temporary market comes as a swift government response following the devastating inferno that destroyed the old market in October last year, aiming to provide immediate relief and trading space for over 1 500 traders.
The newly constructed temporary market will be intergraded into a planned modernised trader’s mall which is currently under planning phase.
The planned modern agricultural mall is expected to eventually accommodate up to 5 000 more vendors, signaling a major step in revitalising one of Zimbabwe’s most historic trading hubs.
