The government says it remains committed to ensuring access to healthcare services for all, hence the establishment of more clinics.

This came out during a tour of the newly established Murerekwa clinic in Zaka this Friday.

The clinic is one among the many healthcare facilities established by the government under the devolution programme.

This Friday saw government officials and community leaders touring the healthcare centre, with the Ministry of Health and Child Care committing to ensure the facility starts functioning within the shortest possible time.

“Today we are here to tour a state-of-the-art healthcare centre in Zaka established by the Second Republic under the devolution programme.  After touring the facility we realized that there are few things left to ensure our clinic starts running smoothly. As the Ministry of Health, we are going to ensure the challenges are addressed. Our vision is to ensure all communities access healthcare services and President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration is working towards achieving that goal,” Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care Honorable Sleiman Kwidini said

Community leaders appreciated the Second Republic for establishing more healthcare centres including in remote areas.

Zaka Central Legislator Honorable Davis Marapira said, “As a constituency, we are happy that the government is supporting us through establishing clinics in our area. Today’s visit left us all hopeful that the Murerekwa Clinic will start functioning soon and the community will start receiving medical attention.”

“The developments happening in our communities are a clear indication that our government is not leaving any community behind towards economic development. Yes, Murerekwa clinic is yet to open its doors but today we had an opportunity to receive medical attention and our children received nurse aid training,” Chief Ndanga added.

Meanwhile, a medical health expo hosted at Murerekwa Clinic saw community members receiving medical attention while others including youths received nurse aid training.
