There is hope for Zimbabwe at the Miss Universe beauty pageant where Brooke Jackson has made it in the top ten of the silver preliminary competition after competing with more than 80 beauties from around the world.
The live-streamed event held last night dubbed ‘Voice of Change’ which includes swimsuit and evening gown competitions will also determine the top 20 semi-finalists.
Brooke made it to the top alongside models from Angola, Brazil, Chile, Lebanon, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa and Ukraine.
A national costume competition set for this Thursday also contributes to who makes it in the final 20.
The semi-finalists will be announced on the final show on Saturday and will battle it out for the coveted crown which will be handed over on the day by reigning Miss Universe queen R’Bonney Gabriel from the United States of America.
Meanwhile, Zimbabweans have a chance to increase Brooke’s chances of winning through an online voting process which is currently underway.
