The Museum of African Liberation has taken delivery of artefacts and paraphernalia donated to Zimbabwe by the Government of Cuba.
The artefacts were received by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s special envoy for the Museum of African Liberation, Ambassador Simbarashe Mumbengegwi in Havana, Cuba.
The items include two tanks used in the battle of Cuito Convale in Angola, a military personnel carrier, four boxes of military regalia, historic documents, books, pictures and films.
Zimbabwe and Cuba enjoy strong ties forged during the Second Chimurenga when the Caribbean Island state supported nationalist freedom fighters.
The Museum of African Liberation, a brainchild of the Institute of African Knowledge (Instak) is conceived as a monument to the epic struggle to liberate African people from European colonialism and Apartheid.
