TODAY marks three years since the passing of Archbishop Dr Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti, the founding father of ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries International, whose ministry continues to influence millions of believers in Zimbabwe and across the world.
Born on May 5, 1923, in the Ngaone area of Chipinge, Archbishop Guti began his spiritual journey at the age of 15 before founding ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries International in Bindura in 1960.
Under his leadership, the church grew into one of Zimbabwe’s largest indigenous Pentecostal movements, expanding its footprint across Africa and beyond through evangelism, community outreach and leadership development.
Widely regarded as a pioneer of indigenous Pentecostal evangelism in Zimbabwe, Archbishop Guti devoted his life to preaching the Gospel while championing education, family values, self-reliance, humanitarian service and the development of future leaders.
His teachings, rooted in faith, humility, integrity and service to God and humanity, continue to shape the lives of believers, while the institutions and programmes established during his ministry remain part of his enduring legacy.
Archbishop Guti died in 2023 at the age of 100 and was accorded National Hero status in recognition of his contribution to the nation and his role in promoting unity and spiritual growth.
He was laid to rest at ZAOGA Mountain in Bindura, where many continue to visit in remembrance of a religious leader whose life was dedicated to the service of God and humanity.
As the nation and the global ZAOGA Forward in Faith family commemorate the third anniversary of his passing, his legacy continues to live on through the ministry he founded and the millions of lives he touched.
