THE ZANU PF Mashonaland Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) says it remains firm and committed towards the implementation of national party resolutions amid calls for members to shun factionalism.
This came out when the PCC met in Chinhoyi this Saturday, with leaders reiterating the importance of unity and discipline and full implementation of resolutions.
Guest speaker and Politburo Member, Dr Douglas Mombeshora, urged ruling party members to shun factionalism, stressing that divisions in the party weakens the movement.
“Factionalism weakens our movement and derails the developmental agenda. As leaders, we must put the people first and move forward as a united ZANU PF. We should be at the forefront to defend party positions and its leadership. We should all be united with a common goal, that is ensuring that President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 sails through” he said.
Politburo Member, Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, updated the gathering on the state of co-options within the Central Committee, saying the process was being handled in line with the party constitution.
“Our focus is on ensuring the right people are placed in structures so that the Central Committee continues to function effectively in driving party programmes,” he noted.
Provincial Party Chairperson, Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, reaffirmed that Mashonaland West remains firm on implementing resolutions passed at the party’s national conferences and congress.
“We are clear and consistent. Our duty as a province is to ensure that what the party resolves at the top is executed faithfully on the ground. We remain firm on the implementation of Resolution Number One, that President Mnangagwa should see through his vision, and this is a collective position which we take to Manicaland in October.”
Meanwhile, the PCC endorsed the readmission of former Mines Minister, Cde Walter Chidhakwa pending approval by the Politburo.
