The ZANU PF Youth League in Mashonaland Central has recommended that President Emmerson Mnangagwa continue to lead the country until 2030 to consolidate the gains of the development trajectory which the country has taken.
Youths from the eight districts of Mashonaland Central province converged in Shamva on Friday and unanimously recommended for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030.
Mashonaland Central ZANU PF Youth League chairperson, Cde Emmerson Raradza said, “As the Youth of Mashonaland Central, we have resolved that President Mnangagwa is leading us to the land of honey. We stand resolutely behind President Mnangagwa, acknowledging his transformative leadership and development initiatives that have revitalised our province. We are saying, 2030 President Mnangagwa will be there and ruling.”
ZANU PF Youth League National Deputy Secretary, Cde John Paradza said he will convey the youths’ message to the party leadership.
“The President is saying the youth must make money and this will strengthen the party. So, we will ensure that you carry out your mining activities without people disturbing. There is another issue of EPOs which are disturbing the youth from pegging and operating their claims so, we have agreed that we will discuss with the President at the National Assembly on Wednesday that those places should benefit the youth,” he said.
ZANU PF Mashonaland Central province chairperson, Cde Kazembe Kazembe commended the youth for working well in the province.
“I want to commend the youth, we work well with them here in the province.”
The recommendation for President Mnangagwa to lead the nation until 2030 comes after he announced last month that in respect of the constitution of the party and that of the country, he will step down at the end of his second term in 2028.
Various provinces including Masvingo, Midlands, Mashonaland East, Bulawayo, and Matabeleland North have already made similar recommendations.
