ZVISHAVANE – THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League enters its second half with a blockbuster clash between defending champions Simba Bhora and four-time winners FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium this Saturday.

Simba Bhora, who concluded the first round atop the log with 35 points, face a stern test in Zvishavane.

The reigning champions are aiming to consolidate their lead over closest challengers MWOS, who trail by just one point.

However, hosts FC Platinum will be no pushovers, sitting sixth on the table with 24 points, the Pure Platinum Play outfit have gone the entire first round unbeaten, registering four victories and an unprecedented 12 draws.

A win against Simba Bhora would not only enhance their top-four ambitions but also disrupt Simba Bhora’s title defence plans.

The two sides have a competitive head-to-head record, having met five times in the league. FC Platinum boast three wins, Simba Bhora have secured one, and their most recent encounter in the first round ended goalless.

Elsewhere on Saturday, TelOne welcome Herentals to Ascot Stadium, while ZPC Kariba host Harare giants Dynamos—who are desperate to revive their campaign at Nyamhunga Stadium.

Yadah take on Manica Diamonds at Heart Stadium, Bikita Minerals clash with Chicken Inn at Gibbo Stadium, and Baobab Stadium will play host to a thrilling encounter between Ngezi Platinum and Kwekwe United.

Sunday’s fixtures include a highly anticipated showdown between Highlanders and second-placed MWOS at Barbourfields Stadium. CAPS United are set to entertain Green Fuel at Rufaro Stadium, while Triangle United lock horns with Scotland FC at Gibbo.
