SENEGAL and hosts Morocco have booked their places in this Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final after two gripping semi-final encounters decided by the finest of margins.
The 2021 champions edged past Egypt 1-0, with Sadio Mané striking late to break Pharaohs hearts and send the West Africans into another continental final.
In the second semi-final, Morocco were pushed all the way by Nigeria, with the match ending goalless in regulation time.
The Atlas Lions held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out, sending the home crowd into celebration and keeping alive their dream of lifting the trophy on home soil.
The stage is now set for a blockbuster finale, with Senegal chasing a second AFCON crown and Morocco aiming to seal a historic triumph in front of their own supporters.
