Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Dube back home

MISS Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Dube is back home after flying the country’s flag high in Mexico at the Miss Universe Pageant last week.

It was a hero’s welcome for Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Dube who touched down at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare this Wednesday afternoon.

The beauty queen, who made it in the top 30 of the global pageant in Mexico on Saturday night thanked Zimbabweans for their love and support during her participation at the event.

“What I saw and felt was so overwhelming. You made it possible Zimbabwe with your love and support and I would like to say thank you very much, I would have not walked this journey alone. We walked together, let us continue to love and support each other,” she said.

The beauty queen also got support from several Zimbabweans, among them Miss Universe Board member, Mrs Miniyothabo Chiwenga and is grateful about it.

“Thank you so much for showing us the spirit of Ubuntu, the spirit of unity and support, I could not have done it without your support. To my other mother Zodwa [Mkandla], who is not present, I want to say her selflessness still amazes me as she made sure that I did not lack in anything,” Mrs Chiwenga said.

Miss Universe Zimbabwe Director, Tendai Hunda thanked Sakhile for marketing destination Zimbabwe through participating at the global pageant.

She said, “You did us proud Sakhile and all our efforts to market the country are easier now because of your efforts.”

The 2024 Miss Universe pageant was won by Victoria Theilvig of Denmark.
