THE ZANU PF Midlands Province has once again recommended that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office be extended to 2030 for him to witness his vision coming to fruition.

The recommendation, which was read out during a ZANU PF Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting held in Gweru this Sunday, is part of the province’s resolutions ahead of the 2025 annual national People’s Conference to be held in Mutare next month.

“As a province, we came up with resolutions that came from all the party structures that I have compiled. All the structures have reaffirmed their 2024 conference Resolution Number 1, that President Mnangagwa’s rule be extended until 2030. This is because of the good works he has been doing since assuming office in 2017. The structures also resolved that we have our own stand-alone currency for meaningful development to continue taking place,” Midlands Province ZANU PF Secretary for Local Governance and Devolution, Cde Connilius Mupereri said.

“Resolution Number 1 is here to stay. This is a resolution from the people, by the people. As such, we the people are saying our President should stay put and drive the economy for posterity,” Midlands Province ZANU PF Secretary for Security, Cde Owen Ncube noted.

ZANU PF politburo member, Cde Supa Mandiwanzira, who witnessed the passing of the resolutions, took time to explain the origins of the party’s resolution number 1, which is now a national consensus.

“This resolution used to have some people who were against it, but when we went to Bulawayo, it became a national consensus. You are the last to make the resolution, which has already been made by the other nine provinces. This means it is a resolution coming from the people, by the people. Let us check the works by the President. His delivery and work are quite clear. Infrastructure development is clear. Our human capital development is unquestionable. Our nurses and health professionals are sought after internationally. Just look at the road infrastructure, where there is massive infrastructure development creating room for investment,” Midlands Minister of Provincial Affairs and Devolution, ZANU PF Politburo Member, Cde Supa Mandiwanzira said.

Known as Resolution Number 1, the recommendation for President Mnangagwa to lead until 2030 got a unanimous endorsement at the ZANU PF annual national people’s conference held in Bulawayo last year.
