ZANU PF leadership in Masvingo Province has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing development initiatives aligned with Government’s Vision 2030, which aims to establish an upper-middle-income society within the next six years.
The provincial leadership convened on Sunday at a local resort for the ZANU PF Provincial Interdistrict Meeting, where delegates reviewed progress on resolutions adopted at the 22nd ZANU PF National People’s Conference. The discussions focused on ensuring that provincial programmes remain consistent with national policy priorities to accelerate socio-economic transformation.
ZANU PF Masvingo Provincial Chairperson, Senator Robson Mavhenyengwa, emphasised the province’s continued support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s national vision.
“From the conference, the ZANU PF party resolved that our resolution number one, that President Emmerson Mnangagwa must lead this country to 2030, must be implemented. We all agreed to that, and as a province we continue to support President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision of achieving an upper middle-income economy by the year 2030,” Senator Mavhenyengwa said.
Masvingo province is a beneficiary of various programmes implemented by government, hence improved community livelihoods.
“As a province, we have seen a number of developments from agriculture development, investments in mining, tourism and other sectors of the economy. As a province, we are looking forward to developing more than 60 000 hectares of land for irrigation, hence transforming the lives of our people with the support of President Emmerson Mnangagwa,” Masvingo Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Ezra Chadzamira said.
ZANU PF Politburo Member Cde Lovemore Matuke rallied party structures to ensure the successful implementation of key government development programmes.
“From the conference, we agreed that we want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to continue leading us because of the developments we have witnessed in our communities. It is also our duty to participate in those development programmes as they are meant to transform our livelihoods,” he said.
Central Committee Member and Chairperson of the Land Tenure Technical Committee, Cde Kudakwashe Tagwirei, unpacked the government’s title deeds programme.
“The title deeds programme by our government is meant to give beneficiaries of the land reform programme security and confidence as land owners. The government is also coming up with booster kits and loan facilities for farmers to improve production on their land, such that they are able to pay for their title deeds,” he said.
Earlier, the delegation toured the provincial party offices currently under construction, with Cde Tagwirei pledging support towards completion of the project.
Meanwhile, delegates who attended the meeting received food hampers and agricultural inputs.
