Government has commended resilient entrepreneurs for their ability to transform challenges into growth of businesses.
It emerged during the Business Connect Iconic, Pacesetters and Legends Awards Ceremony Thursday night that several entrepreneurs had pursued growth opportunities despite socio-economic challenges.
The ability to transform challenges into growth opportunities emerged as a key element in sustaining Zimbabwe’s economic growth agenda.
Guest of Honour at the awards ceremony, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere who was represented by the Director of Media Services in his ministry Mr George Chisoko, commended the entrepreneurs for their ability to endure local and external challenges.
“The celebrations are not merely ceremonial. They highlight the vibrancy of extraordinary individuals, Small to Medium Enterprises and corporations that inspire one another to tackle issues such as unemployment, substance and drug abuse and other societal challenges, it is testimony that we have stakeholders who are willing to join hands in organising, telling what is being done by individuals to ensure a better future for Zimbabweans. These are people we are talking about tonight. These are people who also thrive in an environment that is uncertain, complex and ambiguous,” he said.
Entrepreneurs who were honoured for showing commitment to their duties while inspiring the next generation of leaders pledged commitment to work with the Government on growth opportunities.
“This is a true testimony of how hard work gets recognition in the long term. It is now all about the ability to transform the challenges into growth opportunities,” said an entrepreneur.
“I am elated that my work is recognised and this will definitely inspire me to scale up the scope of my businesses while focusing on expansion,” noted another.
The platform also created an opportunity for captains of industry to exchange ideas on business growth policies.
