ZIMBABWE’S preparations for the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier shift into final gear this afternoon as the Chevrons take on Nigeria in their last warm-up encounter at Harare Sports Club.

The match, set for 1.30 pm, is designed to sharpen all aspects of the team’s game ahead of the regional qualifier, which gets underway on Friday.

Coach Justin Sammons has hinted at rotating his squad to give fringe players valuable game time.

Although Nigeria are ranked well below Zimbabwe and may not pose a major threat on paper, the Chevrons remain cautious, mindful of past upsets, including the disappointment of missing out on the last World Cup to a lower-ranked side.
