FORMER Manicaland Governor and ZANU PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Tinaye Chigudu who died this Wednesday has been declared a national hero.
In his condolence message to the Chigudu family, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the honour is in recognition of Cde Chigudu’s contribution to the nation before and after independence.
President Mnangagwa said Cde Chigudu was among the brave sons and daughters who took a stand and fought for the independence of the country.
The Head of State described Cde Chigudu as a principled cadre who served the ruling ZANU PF party and government with unquestionable allegiance, loyalty, and dedication.
In his illustrious political career, Cde Chigudu served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Governor for Manicaland Province, and ZANU PF Manicaland Provincial Chairperson.
