HARDROCK will look to strengthen their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title challenge when they face Ngezi Platinum Stars in a crucial Matchday 25 fixture this weekend.
Second-placed Hardrock have 45 points, four clear of fourth-placed Ngezi Platinum Stars on 41. Victory would tighten the gap on league leaders Scottland, while Ngezi need maximum points to keep their championship hopes alive.
The two sides head into the clash in contrasting form.
Hardrock have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches, including Thursday’s convincing 2-0 victory over Agama.
Ngezi Platinum Stars, meanwhile, are coming off a 1-1 draw against Triangle United and are unbeaten in their last five outings, recording two wins and three draws.
The teams shared a 2-2 draw in their only meeting this season, suggesting another closely contested encounter.
Elsewhere, Matchday 25 begins on Saturday with MWOS hosting FC Platinum at Ngoni Stadium.
Sunday’s fixtures see Manica Diamonds face Triangle United at Sakubva Stadium, Simba Bhora host Agama at Wadzanayi Stadium, FC Hunters take on Herentals at The Heart Stadium, Bulawayo Chiefs welcome ZPC Kariba to Luveve Stadium, and TelOne entertain CAPS United at Ascot Stadium.
The match between Dynamos and Scottland has been postponed as Scottland travel to South Africa for the Toyota Cup, where they will face Kaizer Chiefs.
Highlanders’ fixture against Chicken Inn has also been postponed following the deaths of three Bosso executive members in a road traffic accident.
