THE people of Shamva South Constituency have welcomed the enactment of the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Act, saying it allows the country to focus on development and economic empowerment.
Development initiatives took centre stage at a constituency meeting in Bindura, where residents reviewed progress made during the first half of the year.
Shamva South legislator, Honourable Joseph Mapiki, updated constituents on the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Act while donating sewing machines and a tile-cutting machine to support women and youth empowerment.
“Development is helpful because it leaves a legacy for our children. I have come to tell you that CAB 3 is over; it is now law. Government is now focused on development and, as Members of Parliament, we must also focus on development,” he said.
Residents welcomed the new law and applauded the empowerment initiative, saying it supports inclusive development.
“We are happy that CAA 3 was passed because these were our aspirations. We also want to thank our MP, Honourable Mapiki, for empowering women and the youth through the donation of sewing machines,” one resident said.
Another community member added:
“We are seeing development in our area and in our nation, which is why we rallied behind CAB 3, which is now CAA 3.”
Participants called on women and young people to embrace Government-led development programmes and economic initiatives in line with the objectives of the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Act.
