ALL-rounder Josephine Nkomo has been appointed captain of the Zimbabwe Women’s cricket team after previously serving as vice-captain, as Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed the leadership structures for the senior national sides.
Nkomo takes over the reins with left-arm seamer Nomvelo Sibanda named vice-captain as the Lady Chevrons prepare to build on their historic maiden ICC Women’s Championship campaign.
Zimbabwe Cricket also retained Richard Ngarava as captain of the Test and One-Day International teams after his successful leadership debut against Bangladesh, while Sikandar Raza remains the T20 captain.
The appointments, recommended by the ZC Cricket Committee, also see Brian Bennett named Test vice-captain, Raza ODI vice-captain and Ngarava T20I vice-captain.
