THE ruling ZANU PF party has implored the youth to stick to the founding values and ideology of the liberation movement in their participation in socio-economic activities.
Speaking during a Youth League Inter-District meeting at the ZANU PF Harare Provincial offices this Wednesday, ZANU PF Secretary for Youth Affairs Hon. Tinoda Machakaire said youths must adhere to the founding principles, values and ideology of the ruling party in their endeavour to remain the vanguard of the ruling party.
“We do not reward individuals who insult the party, we do not reward individuals who soil the name of the President. You are the vanguard of the party. You are the owners of the party, and you are entitled to defend the party. We want to tell everyone who is new to ZANU PF that they ought to ask how we behave in this party,” Secretary for Youth Affairs, ZANU PF, Honourable Tinoda Machakaire said.
“Your job is to defend the President in the morning, afternoon and evening, when it is hot and when it is cold, and so as the youth, we stand with the President because since 2017 we have seen unprecedented development,” Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, ZANU PF, Honourable John Paradza said.
Hon. Paradza further delivered a stern warning against individuals who soil the image of the President.
“Our job is to protect the President regardless of who you are, and we are giving people a warning. If we see that what you are doing poses a danger to the party, you might think that you are important before you are actually important. Even if you are on the podium with the President as a youth, we can take you off that podium. Let us respect the ideology and path of ZANU PF. If you think you have money, your money should be donated to the party, not individuals. There are people who insult the President and are rewarded. I want to be clear that we will never tolerate that. If we see that car, we will take it,” he said.
The interface was attended by members of the ZANU PF Harare Province Youth League and several provincial leaders, including ZANU PF Harare Province Chairperson Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa.
