THE Midlands Province has paid tribute to the Second Republic for conferring National Hero status on the late Ambassador Victor Matemadanda, describing the honour as recognition of his immense contribution to the liberation struggle and national development.
In 2018, the late Ambassador Matemadanda was elected to represent Gokwe Central Constituency in Parliament, and this Wednesday, family, friends and colleagues came together to bid farewell to the gallant son of the soil.

We are grateful to President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa for the honour, as he is the first from Gokwe to be laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre,” ZANU PF Midlands Provincial Chairperson, Cde Edson Chiherenge said.
