THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) says it has completed preparations for the council by-elections scheduled for Saturday in three wards of Tsholotsho District.
Addressing the media in Harare on Friday, ZEC Chief Elections Officer, Mr Simbarashe Tongayi, outlined the commission’s readiness for the polls and the arrangements put in place to facilitate voting.
“The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has identified a total of 25 polling stations for tomorrow’s by-elections. Ward 1 has ten (10) polling stations. Ward 10 has eight polling stations. Ward 21 has seven polling stations. The provisional list of those polling stations was first published on 28 May 2026. The same list will be published tomorrow, June 20, in terms ot section 51(2) of the Electoral Act. Polling shall take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing councillors to represent Wards 1, 10 and 21 of Tsholotsho Rural District Council,” he said.
A total of 25 polling stations have been designated across the three wards, with 10 in Ward 1, eight in Ward 10 and seven in Ward 21.
Polling is scheduled to run from 7am to 7pm as voters elect councillors to represent the three wards in the Tsholotsho Rural District Council.
The by-elections will fill vacancies in Wards 1, 10 and 21, with ZEC expressing confidence in its preparedness to conduct the polls.
